And speaking of heat, just below the distortion knob is the “H” (heat!) control for really adding some sear to your chosen degree of distortion.

When it’s time to sharpen up or muddy down your effect, take to the color control. This knob, labeled “C,” essentially acts as a tone function to brighten or dampen your signal, depending on the needs of the mix you’re working with. Want fuzz? Crank your controls to really saturate your signal and push your tone from merely smoking hot to a borderline nuclear fission of fuzz, depending on how much mayhem you require.
